Not as cheap as keeping hold of Insua who is 10 years younger, has far more potential and also counted as home grown. Looks like the Joe Cole deal was just to throw us off the scent of what is really happening at the club. Selling as many players as possible and replacing as few of them as possible with dross.

If anyone can prove to me that we are going to be better off for selling players like Maxi, Pacheco, Insua etc and replacing them with old English mid table players who are not (never were, never will be) good enough then I'll shut up and move on. So sick of all the shit at the club at the moment.

The fullbacks we've let go over the last few seasons, the likes of Aurelio, Insua and Arbeloa. Luke young is the answer to replacing these guys? I know he'll only be as a back up, but insua was a fine back up.
