LEIVA JOINS LAZIO PRESEASON TRAINING

Liverpool star joined his new teammates at Lazio for preseason training camp after his move from Anfield was completed.

The 30-year old is expected to serve as the replacement for Lucas Biglia, the Argentine midfielder who moved to Serie A rivals, AC Milan.

Simone Inzaghi, who led the team to a fifth place finish last term, is ready to compete in the Europa League. This made the manager seek out experienced players that can help their continental hopes.

Leiva joined Liverpool from his home side Gremio in 2007 for £5 million. After a decade, he moves to Lazio for the same fee. The former Brazil international said he had to move elsewhere to get regular game time as he fell in the pecking order at the club.

Leiva said it would have even easier for him to have remained at the Merseyside even though he got fewer chances but added that he decided against it as it was against everything that he believed in “as a footballer and competitor.” Continue reading LEIVA JOINS LAZIO PRESEASON TRAINING

LIVERPOOL TO BREAK RECORD FOR SALAH

Liverpool are likely to break their transfer record for AS Roma attacker Mohammed Salah.

The sporting director of the Italian side Monchi confirmed the interest from the Merseyside club. Roma are hoping to get more £35 million for the player. The director admitted that the player could join Anfield this summer even though talks have been stalled over the transfer price for the 24-year old star.

Jurgen Klopp wants Salah to join the team ahead of the pre-season training in early July. He wants the new player in his attacking team as he searches for a top defender to help with the woes of last term.

“For Salah, there is an offer from an English club but the price will be set by Roma, not the buyers. As I’ve said before, Roma is not a supermarket. Roma is a team that will represent Italy in Europe. We came second in Serie A and out idea is to keep as good a team as possible,” Monchi claimed. Jurgen Klopp dont want any game after New Year

Jurgen Klopp reckons that playing a day after Christmas or even on the New Year day is okay, but, just a couple of days after the New Year day again is a little harsh.

Public thinks from its own point of view that it’s their holiday time, they have to work from Monday to Friday every week, while the players have their work cut out only on the weekends or at worst, maybe on one of the other week days, but, that too very rarely

So, what’s the problem if the players have to work a little bit more for just one week, playing three games, from the 26th of December to the 3rd of January, even if that’s tough, they can have a number of non-working days in the other remaining weeks of the year. JurgenKlopps reveals his transfer guidelines

It’s been a little over a year since JurgenKlopp has taken over Liverpool as the head coach of the Premier League club and so far it has been a remarkable period of time as the German manager has managed to push Liverpool to the finals of the UEFA Europa League and of the Capital One Cup as well, all of which was accomplished during his first year in charge of Liverpool which is impressive to say the least.

The German coach mostly seems to have done work with the squad that he had available since taking charge of the club, neither Klopp nor Liverpool are big cash spenders and he has been mostly relying on the players that he had at his disposal and so far it has been a success as they have been playing significantly better than before.
Even though he has not made a big splash in the transfer market, JurgenKlopp has recently talked about his guidelines when it comes to signing new players as he said:

BENTEKE SET TO MOVE TO TURKEY

Premier League side Liverpool FC could allow the transfer of their forward Christian Benteke move to Turkey this summer as the Turkish champions are interested in signing him, based on reports.

Reds Manager Jurgen Klopp deems the player surplus to requirements, and has gotten a lot of attackers this summer as replacement.

Benteke moved to Anfield for £32.5 million last summer but he couldn’t quite live up to the hype in his debut season, else the quest to push him out.

Crystal Palace are offering Benteke a lifeline to remain in England but they have not been able to agree transfer fees with Liverpool. Express Sport report that Palace offered Liverpool £23.5m with £7m in potential add-ons but the Reds rejected it due to the triggers for the additional payments, claiming they were unrealistic. Liverpool want to offload the player only to any side that will help minimise the loss the most. Hence, the move to send Benteke on loan since almost no club would likely meet such high standards after his performance in the last term.

Lig TV reports that Besiktas are willing to offer £3million in a season long loan for the Belgian. Continue reading BENTEKE SET TO MOVE TO TURKEY

Liverpool To Pick Up Jonas

With all the football clubs busy making the most of the transfer window, Liverpool is no different.

They are looking at Jonas Hector, who is a defender of the Koln team. It seems that he would be available for a fraction of the original asking price. Hector was said to be moving to Anfield and newspapers quoted that he was looking for a price tag of £25million. There were reports of interests being generated by the player by teams like Barcelona and Tottenham who are Premier League rival for Liverpool. It was reported that the offers were for £15m. Barca unveiled that they would be taking up Lucas Digne, who would be joining their camp from the Paris Saint Germain team. The Spurs team seems to have locked down on Danny Rose. Hence Liverpool is now in a position to sign up Jonas Hector. The Reds have more good news as the offer would probably be for £17million which would be good enough for the player to be willing to join up.

Louis van Gaal feels Team to be Lucky over Everton Win

Louis van Gaal claimed that his team were lucky to get a 1-0 win over Everton on Sunday.

Manchester United kept themselves in contention for a top four place by remaining within a point of fourth placed Manchester City as a result of this win. City had put a lot of pressure on United after getting a comfortable 4-0 away victory against Bournemouth on Saturday. Since United were playing a day later, there was a lot of onus on them to keep up with City. Even though United achieved this, Van Gaal says that the result could have been a lot different.

Anthony Martial scored the only goal of the game, as both teams failed to create many chances during the game. In fact, this goal scored by United was from their only shot on target. Everton also had a similarly poor performance on the attacking front despite starting with inform striker Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian international has been linked with United in recent weeks and he has scored 25 goals for the Merseyside club in all competitions. Van Gaal has been under pressure throughout the campaign, but he may sense an opportunity to sneak into the top four. Continue reading Louis van Gaal feels Team to be Lucky over Everton Win

Brendan Rodgers and the other decision makers at Liverpool need to be quite sensible

Brendan Rodgers and the other decision makers at Liverpool need to be quite sensible in the coming pre season transfer window.

They must focus on covering the weaker bases.

At the moment, they are looking to be most interested in the Southampton defender Nathaniel Clyne.

They had placed a bid of 10 million Pounds for the player earlier, but, it wasn’t accepted after which they are planning to increase the amount and go for another bid.

Clyne is a good player no doubt and it’s quite normal for the clubs to be interested in him for the kind of player he has turned out to be in the last one- one and half years.

But, the question is – is signing a right back the top priority for Liverpool at the moment?

The answer would be no despite the fact that a position is vacant there after the departure of Glen Johnson.

The first and foremost thing that the Reds have to do is to bring in a couple of high class strikers from somewhere because it’s that department which has let them down of late.

The no. of times Liverpool found the net in 2013-14 was fifty more than their goal’s tally the previous season which itself tells the story. Continue reading Brendan Rodgers and the other decision makers at Liverpool need to be quite sensible
