Liverpool are likely to break their transfer record for AS Roma attacker Mohammed Salah.

The sporting director of the Italian side Monchi confirmed the interest from the Merseyside club. Roma are hoping to get more £35 million for the player. The director admitted that the player could join Anfield this summer even though talks have been stalled over the transfer price for the 24-year old star.

Jurgen Klopp wants Salah to join the team ahead of the pre-season training in early July. He wants the new player in his attacking team as he searches for a top defender to help with the woes of last term.

“For Salah, there is an offer from an English club but the price will be set by Roma, not the buyers. As I’ve said before, Roma is not a supermarket. Roma is a team that will represent Italy in Europe. We came second in Serie A and out idea is to keep as good a team as possible,” Monchi claimed. ...continue reading LIVERPOOL TO BREAK RECORD FOR SALAH

Jurgen Klopp has opened up on the future of defender Mamadou Sakho, and he says that he does not want to be drawn on conclusions just yet.

The former Paris St Germain defender fell out of favour withKlopp in the summer. After having just played a key role in the club’s revival last season, he did not feature in the first half of the season. Sakho was frozen out of the action, but Klopp finally provided him with the escape option. The defender was allowed to leave the club on a loan deal until the end of the campaign, and Crystal Palace took full advantage of his presence.

Sam Allardyce was able to bring in Sakho on a loan deal until the end of the season, and this transfer has worked like a charm for the London outfit. After struggling with a relegation throughout the campaign, Crystal Palace have been able to secure four wins in the last five league matches – including a 3-0 win over Arsenal and a 2-1 win over Chelsea. ...continue reading Klopp Refuses to Be Drawn into Questions about Mamadou Sakho

Jurgen Klopp reckons that playing a day after Christmas or even on the New Year day is okay, but, just a couple of days after the New Year day again is a little harsh.

Public thinks from its own point of view that it’s their holiday time, they have to work from Monday to Friday every week, while the players have their work cut out only on the weekends or at worst, maybe on one of the other week days, but, that too very rarely

So, what’s the problem if the players have to work a little bit more for just one week, playing three games, from the 26th of December to the 3rd of January, even if that’s tough, they can have a number of non-working days in the other remaining weeks of the year. ...continue reading Jurgen Klopp dont want any game after New Year

Jurgen Klopp has stated that his players are not thinking about the final as their minds are firmly focused on the semi-final.

He believes that they first need to pass the Villarreal test if they want to make it to the final of the Europa League.

He said that his players are motivated for the match and that he does not need to remind them the importance of this game. For him, Liverpool have already shown how much they want to win this competition in the previous rounds and that he has nothing more to tell his players to motivate them. He believes that if they are at this stage of the tournament, it is because that his players are hungry and want to do well.

Klopp wants his players to focus on Villarreal and on nothing else. He does not want them even to think about the previous round matches against Dortmund. For him, you need to use the experience to improve yourself and not dwell on it. He wants his players to respect the opponent and make sure that they play their best football. ...continue reading Liverpool is not thinking about the final according to their manager

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he was one of the first choices for Manchester United to replace Sir Alex Ferguson.

The former Borussia Dortmund manager has revealed that Ferguson took special interest in talking withKlopp about the possibility of taking over at United in 2013. SinceKlopp turned down the job quite quickly, United turned their attention towards other alternatives. In the end, David Moyes was appointed as the replacement for Ferguson and this move proved disastrous for all parties concerned. Moyes was sacked after less than 12 months in charge of the job.

Klopp was one of the sought-after manager in 2013 after having lead Borussia Dortmund to a Champions League final. Few would have imagined that such an achievement was possible in this day and age given the vast differences in finances between a club like Dortmund and the top guns like Barcelona and Real Madrid. Brendan Rodgers and the other decision makers at Liverpool need to be quite sensible in the coming pre season transfer window.

They must focus on covering the weaker bases.

At the moment, they are looking to be most interested in the Southampton defender Nathaniel Clyne.

They had placed a bid of 10 million Pounds for the player earlier, but, it wasn’t accepted after which they are planning to increase the amount and go for another bid.

Clyne is a good player no doubt and it’s quite normal for the clubs to be interested in him for the kind of player he has turned out to be in the last one- one and half years.

But, the question is - is signing a right back the top priority for Liverpool at the moment?

The answer would be no despite the fact that a position is vacant there after the departure of Glen Johnson.

The first and foremost thing that the Reds have to do is to bring in a couple of high class strikers from somewhere because it’s that department which has let them down of late.

The no. of times Liverpool found the net in 2013-14 was fifty more than their goal’s tally the previous season which itself tells the story. ...continue reading Brendan Rodgers and the other decision makers at Liverpool need to be quite sensible

Brendan Rodgers has promised that Liverpool will be challenging for the title next season after failing to hit the heights of last season. Liverpool narrowly missed out on the league title for the first time in their history, as they finished only a couple of points behind Manchester City.

They were expected to build on this success, but the club are struggling to even finish in a top four place. This has largely been because of several restructuring in the squad after the exit of Luis Suarez. The club spent more than € 100 million on several new players, but most of them have failed to settle so far.

The club is showing signs of recovering with Rodgers using a different formation in the last few matches. Liverpool are unbeaten in all competitions since the 3-0 defeat against Manchester United in the middle of December. Raheem Sterling has been at the centre of this revival. ...continue reading Brendan Rodgers confident of Club to get back in Next Season
